The Government of Canada's House in Order commitment is to be a leader in the operation and management of its buildings and facilities in the areas of energy management and the reduction of their greenhouse gas impact. The Energy Training Office of the Centre for the Built Environment provided training in Building Environmental Systems for the staff of government buildings that were undertaking and energy retrofit program. It included a detailed needs assessment of staff training needs and the delivery of on-site training, through a local college, or by means of individualized distance learning.

Seneca through the Energy Training Office in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Environment provides certification training for new dry cleaners and those seeking to renew their certificate in compliance with regulations respecting the Dry Cleaning industry in Ontario. Training is available in English, French and Korean throughout Ontario or by means of home study.
